Several of you have this topic, which could be very interesting. I would say it still needs narrowing down, so during your research this next week be looking for a specific aspect of steroid use that you want to discuss--drug testing, herbal alternatives, punishment for those who do use it, etc.
I was just wondering how you were going to narrow down your topic. I interested because I am doing the same topic and maybe we could help each other out!
That sounds really interesting. It might be interesting to look at which sports have the highest use of steriods and which countries tend to use them the most.
Good topic. You should narrow it down to maybe specific events or another thing I hear about them doing is blood transfussions right before an event in order to get more oxygen to the heart.
Mike's comment brings up an interesting twist, what about all the other crazy things they do other than drugs to improve performance? If they really are doing blood transfusions, I'm sure it's not without medical risk. Maybe look into a paper that involves not drugs, but all the other questionable or risky things. Just a thought.
Look into blood doping and other performance enhancing procedures. Many of the most famous world athletes have been accused and some even convicted of doing these kinds of things. Cycling for example seems to always have someone getting caught for it.
The olympics seem to always have someone getting busted for illegal use of steroids. If you want info on steroids you should watch the documentry bigger, faster, stronger. Its basically a steroid documentry haha.

ReplyDeleteI think it might also be interesting if one of you compared steriod use for summer verses winter olympics. I think that might be an interesting topic.
