In our continuously fast paced world, a growing global media is being pressed upon us. Many feel and argue that this global media is dominated by few companies who control the majority of news and publishing. As a research analyst at MIT, Compaine has experience with the global media and its effects and through his juxtaposing of myths, building ethos, and using literary devices; Compaine cosumately creates a firm argument advocating the embracment of a global media platform.
Compaine structures his argument by counter-arguing the points made by antagonists of global media. Throughout the article, there are bolded lines, set apart from the others portraying these myths. "Global Media Drown Out Local Content" (41), "A few big companies are taking over the world's media" (37), etc. These headings are written in all caps, with his writing falling underneath them. This gives the feel that he is calmly giving his evidence-filled statements, while the opposition is making large, generalized arguments. Through the length of his article, he contributes thoughts refuting eight different myths of the global media. His wide array of topics, and suggestions thoroughly round his argument as he leaves few questions for one to think of in rebuttal.

I was a little confused with your thesis. Maybe if you make your introdcution paragraph longer and explain the topic more it would help clarify your thesis. Otherwise GREAT JOB!!!!

ReplyDeleteYour thesis was a little confusing. I would make it a little less wordy and try and put some of it as just part of your introduction. It looks really good other than that.
ReplyDeleteThe thesis is a little bit hard to process, if reorganize your ideas and make the concepts more clear, this paper could turn out well.
