This is a good general topic, during the next week focus on narrowing down specific reasons why fossil fuels are bad. Greenhouse gas emission is an obvious reason, but is there something new you can add to this argument? Keep mind the counter-arguments that fossil fuels do less damage than the world's livestock (we could lower emissions significantly if we killed all the cows in the world!). Or, your paper could focus on convincing people to change one or two habits in relation to fossils fuels and show them how beneficial this would be. It's not enough to simply say fossil fuels are bad because of greenhouse gasses.
